$3,400,000

Welcome
to the ‘St Albans Pavilion and Pool Project’

Our community is committed to fundraising $3.4million to rebuild our clubrooms and swimming pool on the old Edgeware pool site. We have a vision of beautiful landscaped gardens with picnic areas surrounding a modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly pool. The pavilion will have room for offices, changing rooms and a meeting area. We aim to create an urban oasis right in the heart of St Albans. The facility will be easily accessible since it is located in a ‘hub’, and on main public transport routes.

This is an ambitious project, but one the community believes is achievable and one which will have huge benefits to a wide range of people. Eg: elderly, asthma sufferers, children, schools, education, specialist groups such as life savers etc.
We envisage the facility to use sustainable technology in order to minimize operational costs, and also to maximize the outdoor swimming season by having the pool warm enough.

Christchurch Architect Peter Beaven has offered his expertise to us, has produced a draft plan, has met with council planners and traffic engineers, and has applied for resource consent from the Christchurch City Council.

We will make the pavilion such that it will be an attractive option for groups to hire out for meetings or special occasions.
